Renewed Ambitions for Thonon Evian Grand Genève: A New Cycle Begins

As the new football season approaches, Thonon Evian Grand Genève embarks on a journey of renewed ambition and determination. The goal is to quickly move on after a challenging 2023-2024 season. With significant activity this summer, Strive Football Group leadership is building on the lessons learned, making strategic decisions to propel the club to National 2

Leadership and Vision: A Fresh Start

At the forefront of this new era is the appointment of William Prunier as head coach. He gained significant experience during his playing career, as a defender for numerous prestigious clubs in Europe. While playing for Olympique de Marseille, Bordeaux, Manchester United and Napoli. His playing days under elite coaches and alongside legends like Zinedine Zidane and Eric Cantona undoubtedly shaped his approach to coaching. Since transitioning into management, Prunier has earned a reputation for rigor and hard work, particularly in the National leagues since 2018. Now at the helm of Thonon Evian Grand Genève, Prunier’s first mission is to instill a renewed sense of discipline and ambition within the squad. His leadership will be instrumental as the team aims to battle at the top of National 3 and remain in the promotion discussion until the end of the season.

Strengthened Squad: Key Signings and Extensions

The summer transfer window has been a period of strategic reinforcement for the club. We are pleased to announce that Madagascar international goalkeeper Melvin Adrien has extended his stay, bringing his valuable experience and work ethic. Alongside him, Olivier Lesueur, a key defensive figure, has also committed to another season, providing stability and leadership at the back.

Additionally, we are excited to welcome a significant new signing: Jafar Demdoum. Having impressed us during our encounter with Lyon La Duchère last season, Demdoum brings exceptional talent and a competitive edge that will undoubtedly bolster the club’s defense. Jafar is just one of 11 new signings this summer, each carefully selected to contribute to our ambitious project.

In building this squad, the club has strategically recruited players from different countries, assembling an international team with diverse backgrounds and experiences. These players not only bring a wealth of talent but also possess a deep understanding of the competitive landscape in France, making them well-equipped to navigate the challenges of the upcoming season.

Community Engagement: Beyond the Field

Our ambitions for the new season extend beyond the pitch. Thonon Evian Grand Genève is committed to offering greater spectacles on the field while also engaging more deeply with our community off it. We are planning a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the bond between the club and our supporters, ensuring that the local community remains at the heart of everything we do.

Reserve Side: A Focus on Youth Development

Our reserve side also has much to look forward to following their promotion to the Regional 2 league at the end of the 2023-2024 season. The focus this year will be on maintaining their position while continuing to develop young talents from the region. This approach not only supports the first team but also contributes to the long-term success of the club.

Looking Forward

As we kick off the 2024-2025 season, Thonon Evian Grand Genève is poised for a year of growth, learning, and achievement. With a renewed squad, an experienced coach, and a strong commitment to our community, we are ready to face the challenges ahead and make this season one to remember.
