From Senegal to Europe: How Strive Football Group launched the professional career of an English Premier League player
It’s time we shed light on the remarkable career of Abdallah Sima! In the span of 2 years, he has gone from playing for the Strive Football Group owned-club Thonon Evian Grand Geneve (TEGG) to the English Premier League.
During the 2019-2020 season, Abdallah Sima was discovered and brought to Europe from Senegal by the TEGG recruitment team. Early on, staff as well as teammates at the club recognized his exceptional skills as a forward: great speed, technique, and clinical finishing in front of the goal.
In France, he played in his first European matches, and the club opened the doors for further opportunities for him to continue his path to the top. Our club was delighted to have recruited a forward with such high potential and was proud of the progress he was making. The expert coaching staff at TEGG had brought his level up to a point where he could compete against the top clubs in Europe.
Following his time at TEGG, Sima signed for Slavia Prague in 2020 and became an instant sensation. In his first and only season with the club, he played an instrumental role in winning the Czech League, in the successful UEFA Europa League campaign, and scored the decisive goal in the Czech Cup final. His impressive performances at the age of 20 years old earned him a move to the English Premier League in August 2021.
His rapid ascension to the highest level is the product of hard work, great coaching, and support from the entireof the club as well as the Strive Football Group structure. We look forward to seeing how this young success story continues to develop! Sima’s career trajectory is in line with the mission of the group: Helping young athletes reach their full potential through a global network of integrated football initiatives.
